Regional Couture Rainbow Halter Dress
Hand knit rainbow halter dress made with Four Corners Yarns
Hand spun yarn by Brooke, Nikyle, Phil & Dorothy; Dyed by Andrea
Green yarn around the sensitive parts up top is 100% merino, Red is also 100% merino
All other colors are 60% merino, 40% navajo churro, some from the flocks of Cactus Hill Farms & Jay Begay, all of it US Grown
Hand knitting took 20.58 hours in labor x $40/hour = $823.58
Yarn cost $120
Marketing costs (photo, website, time to ship, etc) = $100
Totaling for a Regional Couture Piece at $1043.58
Modeled on the artists body measuring :
Bust: 38 Waist: 29 Hips: 41
Since it’s knit & stretchy, it can fit bigger bodies. I can make minor alterations to accommodate fit.
It had been draped on a smaller dress form - can fit smaller bodies - of note: the green reaches below the bust line on smaller bodies.
Perfect for : a wedding dress, an artist that performs outdoors like Erykah Badu, anyone who is fabulous & has the budget for this piece of art.
Styling tip: fold the green part around the neck down around the shoulders for a flirty shrug look. As in shrugging ironically looking cute knowing that this piece supports regional agriculture & will compost at the end of it’s fabulous lifecycle (like maybe 200-300 years I’m thinking - maybe it will end up in a museum…) but it will never shred microplastics no no never. ;) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
